Over the course of two weeks, we worked with a group of children who had just transitioned from kindergarten to first grade. Within the structured environment of the classroom, we invited them to jump, move, and play—or perhaps, it was they who were leading us.

Through games, we introduced them to the joy of performing arts. Within that joy, we also guided them to recognize their own emotions and those of others. We hoped they could begin to understand that some rules exist not simply to restrain, but to protect oneself and others from harm.
